Getty Villa

The Getty Villa is right off of PCH in Santa Monica. It was refurbished to reflect an Italian Villa. It's a lesser known secret in SoCal with many larger, more famous museums (i.e. the Getty Center) close by. However, we found this place to be a very intimate setting with many wonderful works of art.

Here is Gretchen standing at the base of the Amphitheater.

If you look closely, the fighter on our right is slightly shorter than the one on the left. That's because it's Gretta!! This was a silhouette game at the Villa.

More silhouette.

Gretta made that pot all by herself!!
J/K. You used whiteboard black markers to write on the pottery
as if you were an ancient artist.

Beautiful Gardens

The long infinity pool at the Villa. It'd be nice
to have something like that on a hot day!

More family photos. It was a beautiful place. We highly recommend you go!!

PCC Class with Grandma

I had to work a little bit more than normal last week because Hilary, my co-worker, was on vacation. Linda graciously agreed to watch the girls on Wednesday too. It was so nice of her. She took them to our PCC class at Eddy Park. They all had a great time. I always forget my camera, so I am so glad she took some pictures of her time with the girls there. I have really enjoyed our PCC class. Gretta loves it too.
Thanks so much Linda!!!

Cousin Jackson's 9 month check up

It's hard to believe that baby Jackson is already nine months old! He isn't going to be a baby much longer, toddlerhood is just around the corner!

Here are his stats from his check-up:
Weight: 25 lbs 6 oz (97%)
Height: 28 inches (47%)
Head Circumference: 45.4 cm (53%)

Looks like he's over-taking Eliza. Eliza had her 12 month well check recently--here are her stats:

Weight: 23 lbs 5 oz (88%)
Height: 30.5 inches (92%)
Head Circumference 46 cm. (75%)

Here are their 12 month and 9 month pictures respectively.

Jackson we wish you lived closer so we could see you more often. Tell your mom to bring you to California for a visit.

Huntington Hospital NICU Reunion

When Gretta was born she spent 2 weeks in the NICU at Huntington Hospital. Every other year they have a reunion party for the families of kids who spent time in the NICU. We missed the one 2 years ago and were excited to go to this years reunion. They put on a nice party. Gretta enjoyed the pizza, soda, clowns, activities and wanted to go on a pony ride until she saw SPIDERMAN. They had Spidermand and Cinderella come to the party for the kids to have their pictures taken with them. Gretta was scared to death of Spiderman. Which ment she didn't even want to go on a pony ride because the ponies were close to Spiderman. Oh well. We still had a great time.Gretta and Aubree Eliza and HayleeThe best thing is that the Erickson's also came to the party. Aubree and Gretta spent one week as next door crib mates at the NICU. It is crazy to think that we barely knew the Erickson's when Gretta and Aubree were born. We have developed such a wonderful friendship and truly love them. We will miss them when we move and hope Gretta and Aubree will be friends forever. Eliza and Haylee are 2 weeks apart in age. The day of the NICU party it was Haylee's 1st Birthday!
Thanks Erickson's for being such great friends!!!

Disneyland with Mandy Bare and Family

One of the best things about living close to Disneyland is having Disneyland passes. The other thing is that lots of our friends come to Disneyland so we get to see them too.

Mandy was my roommate at BYU-I when it was Ricks College. Also, Mandy's sister in law, Maren, was my mission companion.
It was fun to see Mandy, Marshall and their three cute kids. Thanks for sharing your day at Disneyland with us!
