Eliza 12 week well check

Eliza had her 12 week well baby check up last Friday. I knew she was small, but Gretta was small too, so I didn't think I needed to worry.
I was expecting her to weigh at least 10 lbs, so I was a little shocked to see what the scale read.
So I guess I was wrong! Here are her stats
Height 23 1/4 inches 45%tile
Weight 9 lbs 12.5 oz 5%tile
Head Circumference 39 1/2 cm 40%tile

Who knew a kid who ate ever 3 hours, slept 8 hours at night, was happy and smiles wasn't eating enough. I have good sleepers, but not good eaters.
So we have started supplementing her and giving her Avocado oil four times a day (Which is straight fat and should help her pack on some lbs).

I take her back this week to see how much she has gained in one week. I can already see the fat appearing over night. She has fill in quite nicely and is starting to look the the happy chubby baby she longs to be.
Here eyes are shiny in the picture because she also suffered from pink eye last week and the medication leaves here eye lids shiny. Poor kid!

Emily with Samantha, Eric and Ileana

Three years ago while Emily was here she meet my friend Samantha. Now every time she visits she want to see Samantha. We stopped by to say hi. I met Samantha at church. At the time Eric was 9 months old and Gretta was 3 months old. Both Gretta and Eric were born with cleft palates, so Samantha and I bonded over taking care of our kids. Along with having a cleft palate Eric has significant developmental delay. Samantha and I grew up in two different worlds, but becoming such good friends with Samantha has taught me to be even more grateful for my blessings. Samantha has had a hard life.

Disneyland with Emily

We went to Disneyland with Emily. We had a great time. We tried to ride rides that both a 15 year old, and a 2 year old would like. It took a bit of compromise and creativity, but worked out well thanks to fast passes and single rider passes. Gretta was very brave and went on the Haunted Mansion, and Pirates. She did great and is still reminding me of how we went on Pirates. She talks about the boat, the water fall and sings the pirates song. So it must not have been too traumatic.
We also went on the Matterhorn. She loved it! I thought she might be scared because we went on it at night, but she giggled, laughed and screamed the whole way. When it was over she wanted to go again!
Gretta is also just getting into the Disney Princesses so we enjoyed watching the Princes show. Which she really enjoyed. Her favorite Princes is Snow White.
I have always thought Gretta was 2 going on 16, but driving the car in Autopia she really looks 16.
I just love Disneyland, and can't wait for the fall when our passes are good again, the weather is cooler, and less people. I promised Gretta we could ride Finding Nemo next time and she isn't going to let me forget my promise. So Gretta only has 1 1/2 inches to go before she can ride the big kid rides. Yeah!

Cousin Emily's Visit!

My cousin Emily came for her annual visit right after my mom left. This is Emily's third trip out to visit us for a week. We really enjoyed Emily's visit and got to do some fun things. She was a great help with the girls. Gretta just loves her! I use to go visit my Aunt Marie in Virginia for the summer when Emily was little. It is fun to see the cycle continue. We sure had a great time, and can't wait until this October when we get to see her again. Gretta is counting down the days.

Nana's Visit

My mom came to visit us and just to hang out. The last few times she has come it been a whole family affair and full of lots of pre-planned family activities. This time she just came to be part of our everyday life. I didn't tell Gretta she was coming. She was so excited when she saw her at the train station. She kept saying, "My Nana came to see ME!". I know it made Gretta feel very loved that her Nana came to see her. We sure enjoyed a relaxing few days with her. Gretta especially enjoyed Nana's visit. We went to the Farmer's Market and had a picnic. Gretta loves the bubble guy. We also went to Kidspace. My mom and Gretta also made cookies. Gretta loves to help in the kitchen.
Thanks mom for coming! We love you and can't wait to see you again soon.

Eliza

Here are some pictures of Eliza. She is growing bigger, or actually I should say longer. She is still pretty thin. Oh well. I guess I don't have chubby babies. Gretta was the same way.
Eliza is a wonderful baby. She is happy and easy going. She has always been a good sleeper and also loves her big sister Gretta.
Here are some pictures of her in her swing, laying by Gretta, sleeping with Daddy, Smiling, and sleeping in her bassinet (She loves to have her hand by her face. It is in all of our ultrasound pictures too.).

Warning don't try this at home!!

My mom sent Gretta a box of bath fizzy color tablets similar to these "Superman" ones last month only they were "Curious George" her current favorite. The box has quite a few in them and I usually only let Gretta have 2-3 during one bath. She really liked to mix the colors and see how it turned out. It always seemed that eventually the water would turn grey. Well this is what happens when she dumped the last 1/2 of the box in all at the same time. I was really worried it was going to stain my tub. Luckily it didn't. Amazingly enough it didn't stain her too.
The Superman tablets were the replacement from Nana. I have them hid in the hall closet so hopefully we won't have a repeat episode.
