Sarrett Nature Center Field Trip with Dad

 I am Gretta's co-room parent for her kindergarten class. One of my responsibilities is to help arrange parent volunteers to help with the field trips. I was suppose to go on the field trip today to the Sarrett Nature Center, but Eliza is still really sick, so Eric filled in. He had a great time. Gretta was so excited to see him. 

Gretta had a fun time learning about nature, fire and playing games. They weren't able to go outside due to the rain, but they still had a fun time.

One sick kid

poor little Eliza work up sick last night. She had a rough day today too. She is so cuddly when she is sick. I hope she gets well soon!

Disk Golf

Saturday we went Disk Golfing at a local park. We had a good time. It was a beautiful fall day. Gretta really got into it too.

Parent teacher conference

This was on the bulletin board outside her class. It warmed my heart!

Yesterday Eric and I went to Gretta's first elementary school parent teacher conference. We learned that Gretta knows everything her teacher expects her to know at this point and even more. Gretta keeps telling me that everyone in kindergarten can read but her, and we found out that is not true. There is only one girl who can read and Gretta is actually ahead of most of the class in her pre-reading skills. She is going to get to do some special activities at the media center because she is ahead. 

We also found out she plays well with the other children and is very well behaved in class.  

It was wonderful to hear that she is doing so well. 

She loves school and we sure love her!

Wednesday we finally made it to storytime at the Kids' Museum. We had a great time and they weren't ready to go home, but we had to get Gretta to school.

Today we got to observe at Eliza's dance lessons.She loves to dance!!! It was so fun to see her so happy at dance lessons.
