Gretta's last day of school

Gretta was so excited for the last day of school and the end of year picnic. Eric took her to the neighborhood bus stop to catch the bus at 8:00am. She was excited for her dad to take her and to go the whole day. It was good practice for next fall. The weather didn't corporate well for the picnic,so it had to be moved inside, and they couldn't set up the big bounce house. It was cold and rainy. She still had a great last day of school. I can't believe how fast the year went by and how grown up she is getting. Her backpack also barely made it. Next year I am going to buy her a more quality one that hopefully doesn't fall apart quite as quickly.
I am proud of you Gretta!!!!
ps. Gretta was the tallest girl in her class and also lost the most teeth too.

Getting off the bus for the last time this year.

Last kindergarten bus pick up

Wednesday was the last day that Gretta got on the kindergarten bus in front of our house. Tomorrow is the big school wide picnic, so in order to allow all of the children to participate she will go to school all day tomorrow. She wrote cards for her bus driver, Mr Dave Rackey, and her teacher Mrs. Lange. She drew a bus for the bus driver and a picture of Mrs. Lange teaching her class.  Also the other co-room mom for the class made an end of the year present for Mrs. Lange with all of the kids pictures. I couldn't figure out how to turn the picture. It is really cute.
I can't believe how fast this year has gone by and I am so sad she won't get pick up at our house next year.

Carli's 2 month check up

Carli had her 2 month check up today. She also got 3 shots and one liquid vaccine. She did great. It is always so hard to see your kids get shots. I know she needs them, but it doesn't make it any easier.
Here are her stats:
Weight 11lbs 2 oz 75% percentile
Length 25 inches 95% percentile (actually off the charts!)
40 cm head

Carli is growing up so fast!!! She love to kick her legs and move her arms around now and is really good at holding her head up. She has been sleeping like a champ at night and is such a great mellow baby. Gretta especially loves to hold her and play with her.

Blessing of Carli Grace Fors given to her by her great grandfather, George Albert Huff, May 27, 2012

Our most gracious Heavenly Father, we pause to take in our arms this precious infant to give her a name and a blessing.  We give her the name Carli Grace Fors and we ask a special blessing that she may grow to maturity and become an example of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We ask Thee to protect her from the temptations of the world and help her to obtain a testimony of the Gospel that has been restored.  We bless her that she will have the opportunity to obtain the blessings that have been given her.

We bless her to share her testimony of the Gospel wherever she may go.  We pray a special blessing on her parents that they will protect, help and teach her the things she needs to know to be an example of the teachings of the Savior.  Please bless the home she has come to that she can learn by example of the things she needs to know and represent these teachings wherever she may go.

This blessing we pronounce upon her through the power of the Melchisedek Priesthood that we hold, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

The priesthood holders in the blessing circle were:
Her father, Eric D. Fors
Her paternal grandfather, Dennis W. Fors
Her maternal grandfather, John Raymann Snyder
Her uncle Gabe Bartoo
Bishop Darin Everitt

Carli's Baby Blessing

Carli was blessed by her Great Grandfather George Huff today at church. We are so grateful that so many of our family were able to join us today for the special event. Nana & Papa Snyder and Grandpa Huff from Boise, Grandma & Grandpa Fors from La Canada, and the Bartoo's from Rochester, MN. It was a special family weekend.
The Spirit was very strong during Carli's blessing. Great Grandfather Huff gave her the blessing and I couldn't help but reflect that he has given most of the grandchildren their patriarchal blessings and in some ways this was the patriarchal blessing he will never live long enough to give Carli. It was very special and the Spirit was very strong.
Carli was named after her two Grandmothers. It was also special to have so many worthy priesthood holders in the family be able to participate.
She was blessed in the same dress that Nana Carolyn made for me and that both Gretta and Eliza also wore for their blessings.

Eliza's last day of 3 year old preschool

Today was Eliza's last day of 3 year old preschool at First Church of God. She is going to go to Pre K there next year. After a rough start with preschool in the fall at the YMCA this year actually turned out great. Once the Y didn't work out she went with me while I taught at Andrew's University to the Crayon Box preschool right below my class room until the end of December. She started at First Church in January and has really loved it. Her teachers were Mrs. Meny(purple shirt) and Mrs. Pastrick (green shirt). She made a lot of friends and love all of the arts and craft projects. She is looking forward to going back this fall.

The perfect St Joe night

My parents and Grandpa came in a day earlier than the other family for Carli's baby blessing weekend. We had the perfect St. Joe night. First the weather was perfect.  We went to pizza at Silver Beach. We got right in and sat at the big table in the back. We even got to see two trains go by.
Then Eliza, Carli, Mom, Grandpa and I went to the Carousel while Dad, Gretta & Eric went to the beach. I just love riding the Carousel.
After we met up and had ice cream from Kilwin's We even got to sit in the Adirondacks chairs outside while we enjoyed our ice cream.
It was a lovely evening.

My mom by Gretta

My mom's favorite song is church music.
My mom's favorite food is salad.
My mom's favorite color is red.
My mommy loves me so much because I help her with my baby sister. My favorite thing to do with my mom is spending time with her.
What makes your mom pretty? Her long hair.
My mom's favorite tv show is on at night.
I am the most proud of my mom when she works hard all day and is tired at night.
What my mom does best is feed my baby sister.
My mom's job is a stay at home mom.
I show mom that I love her by hugging her before I go to bed at night.
I love you!
Gretta
