Go Cougars!!!

The BYU Men's Basketball team suffered a big loss to New Mexico on Saturday afternoon. Eric went to cheer them on and we all wore our game day attire to support them.
Eliza finally has enough hair for pig tails. Aren't they cute?!

Welcome Charlie Rainbow 81!

Gretta has been begging me for a pet for a while. She really wants a dog. I wouldn't mind getting a dog too. Our landlords even said that was okay. The only problem is what would we do with a dog this summer, and after MBA school is we end up some place we can't have a dog. Plus they are a lot of work! If someone gave me the perfect dog (one that is house trained, loves kids and plays well with them, and doesn't shed) I might be interested.
Well one of the MBA mom's posted this week on the google group she was giving away a fish bowl and all of the stuff for a fish, but the fish. PERFECT! I emailed her and we went and picked the stuff up Thursday night. Gretta really wanted to go get a fish that night, but it was late. I had the babysitter go to Walmart with her on Friday morning and they came home with...
Charlie Rainbow Eight-one
He is a blue Beta Fish.
I hope he last a week! So far Gretta over feed him so much I had to change the water. Now I am the only one who gets to feed him.
We have to keep reminding Eliza she can't stick her hand in the water or move the bowl. Gretta told Eliza, " You causing it an Earthquake." When Eliza kept moving the bowl around. Gretta named him all by herself.

Welcome Charlie!

Mt. Timpanogos

Today was a cold and sunny day in Provo. Mt. Timpanogos looked especially beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. The Mountain's in Utah are beautiful, and look at that beautiful blue sky. To bad the high was only 39 deg. Oh well.

Whirlpool here we come!!!

Eric got offered a summer internship at Whirlpool today.
Yeah!!!
I am so proud of him!!!
He has been working so hard finding an internship, and now his hard work has paid off.
So we will be heading to Benton Harbor, MI for the summer. I guess most employee's live in St. Joseph, MI.
St. Joseph's is located on the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. It is going to be a great summer at the beach. Plus we will be in driving distance to Anna & Gabe.
Way to go Eric!

Gretta's New Bike

Gretta finally earned her bike. It has been a long process and we are so happy she finally earned it. The whole week we were in Palm Desert she asked me when we could get it. She wanted Nana to buy it for her, but we couldn't quite figure out how to get it home if she did that. So she rented her the Red "Rock it" all week. We went and bought it right after we got home from the airport. She was so excited to pick it out. She had a hard time deciding between "Barbie" or "Disney Princesses". She finally decided on the Princesses. She rode it all over Walmart.
She has already had a lot of fun riding it in the drive way and around the block. She wasn't even deterred by the snow we got this week. Thursday morning she woke up and put her snow pants on so she could go outside and ride it. It was a well earned present and will also make for plenty of hours of entertainment.
Way to go Gretta!

Palm Desert - Feb 17th - Time to say goodbye

Eric actually left on Monday. The girls and I got to stay a little longer. When I told Gretta that we were leaving to go back to Utah she got sad. She is a California girl a heart. She asked me if we could go back home to our old house in California.
I also found out the first thing she told the preschool carpool when she jumped in the car on Thursday is that she went to California with her Nana & Pops.
She sure loves the sunny weather.

This picture is one the way to the airport. The conversation when like this....

Nana: "Gretta did you have a good time this week?"
Gretta: "Yes Nana."
I interject from the front. Gretchen: "That is because Nana gave you everything you wanted all week."
Nana: " Gretta that's right I am your "Yes Woman."
Gretta: "Nana you are my "Yes Woman" and my mom is my "No Woman."

Thanks Mom & Dad for a great week! We sure had a great time.

Palm Desert - Feb 16th

Gretta grabbed a whole chocolate muffin from the kitchen for breakfast. When I suggested that she only needed half she told me she would share it with Jackson and Eliza. The sure had a great time sharing the chocolate muffin. Gretta took her role serious and even helped feed Jackson. Life doesn't get much better than having a chocolate muffin for breakfast.

We headed out the door in the mid-morning to get Date Shakes. On the way to the date farm we decided to check out the Riverside County Fair to see if it was worth coming back to. Well Anna, Gretta and I decided we wanted to go to the fair and my dad talked my mom into driving to the Salton Sea with her because Jackson and Eliza were asleep in the car. We had a great time at the fair. We never got our Date shakes, but most of the family wasn't to sad about that. We can do it again next time.

Riding the Ferris Wheel with Aunt Anna

Riding the Camel. Gretta thought she was just like Princess Jasmine.

Checking out the petting zoo.

Riding the pony

Then in the afternoon we went to the pool again. I didn't get any great pool pictures because most of the time I was in the pool with a kid or two. The pool was sure a big hit all week. The 80+ deg temps didn't hurt either.

Jackson is one brave kid. He loves jumping into the pool.

My fish
Isn't she a cute one?

Nana bought Gretta a new suit. When she opened it she said, "Nana, I love pink, green and white together!" Nana also bought her a swimming cap. Hopefully it will help keep her ear plugs in a little better too.

Palm Desert - Feb 15th

The day started with a trip to he park. Actually this is the second time the kids went to the park that morning. The first time Nana & Papa took them on a walk and they ended up at the park with their PJ's on. Everyone loves the park.
Then we wen to the Children Museum. Everyone had a great time. Gretta had such a fun time she went back with Nana while Eliza and Jackson's slept.
Then we went to the pool once more. Got to love vacation!

Maybe this is what will happen to Nana's Bug someday?

Palm Desert - Feb 14th- Happy Valentine's Day

Sunday we went to church. We all most took up a whole bench. Then Sunday we hung out as a family. Sunday night my Mom threw a great Valentine's Party for us. The Homer's also came. They look the same as I remember then from when I was a child. It was fun to see them.
The best part of the day was spending time with my Valentine. Eric is the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you Eric!

Palm Desert - Feb 13th- The Living Desert

Morning Wake up call. The kids all slept at my parent's condo, while Anna & Gabe, Eric and I shared the other unit. They were so nice to get up with them in the morning. Some mornings were earlier than others. Eliza and Jackson liked having their packnplay's next to each other. Gretta had to get into the action too.

Once we were all ready we went to "The Living Desert"

Aren't my cheetah's cute?

The petting zoo. Gretta, Eliza & Jackson really liked the goats.

While Anna, Gabe, Eric and my dad golfed my mom and I took care of all of the kids. She took Gretta to the pool at one and I joined them once Eliza and Jackson were awake about 2:30pm. Gretta swam for 4 hours. She had such a great time with Nana at the pool.

The gang coming home from the pool.
Isn't this one of the funniest things that you have ever seen???
I can't believe that Gretta is getting so old. She can do so many things now like ride a bike & swim.
