Nauvoo Day 1

The grandkids at dinner
The grand kids sure love Nana!!!
Riding in the wagon to Salt Lake
Abigail Jane Daley Andrus and Millenium Andrus
My mom had the kids help her do a play about my Great, Great, Great Grandpa Milo and Abigail Andrus. Abigail and her 5 children went to Salt Lake with Brigham Young's Wagon Company. Milo was on a mission to England. Her oldest, James, was only 13. Isn't that amazing! She was truly a woman of faith.
The other amazing thing is that she made it with all of her children.

Last days of summer

The girls and I have had such a fun summer. I am sad to see it end. We enjoyed all of the visit of family and friends. We have had a great time at the beach. I have enjoyed watching Gretta & Eliza play so well together.
We went to the Carousel and Kid's Museum on Thursday. It was a perfect end to a wonderful summer.

Carli 5 months

Look who is 5 months!!! Carli is grown up way to fast. She doesn't have pediatrician appointment until next month, but I can say for sure that she is growing!!!
Some of her new tricks are:
Holding objects in her hand and transferring it to her other hand
Playing with her feet. She just loves to play with her toes
Rolling side to side. I think if she got more time on her back she would be rolling over.
Still doesn't like tummy time very much.
Loves her jumperoo and can sure make it bounce!
Drooling. I am convinced teeth should be coming soon with the amount of drooling she has been doing.
Cooing and vocalizing a lot! She always seems to have a lot to say.
Eating like a champ! She eat 6 - 8 oz a feeding. She is still getting a mix of breast milk and formula, but mostly formula.
Sleeping like a champ! She takes about three naps a day. She is also good at rolling with the flow and sleeping where and when she can. She is getting to the age that she does sleep best in her crib.
Her scheduled has been kind of like this:
7am wake up and have a bottle and go right back to bed
9-10 wake up for the day. Go on an outing out of the house.
Usually we are gone most of the afternoon, so she just takes a nap on the go.
Then when we get home takes a nap from about 4:30 to 6:00.
Then to bed at 8:00. Sometime we wake her up to feed her at 10:00 and then put her back to bed.

She is a very happy baby. She starts cooing when she wakes up. It is so much fun to go get her out of her crib because she smiles so big.

Carli we love you so much! We are so happy to have you in our family.

Ice cream social

Gretta is getting so excited to go back to school. She found out this week that her new teacher will be Mrs. Fellows. Mrs. Fellow's send a nice letter in her back to school packet.

Gretta is so excited to be one of her worker bees.

Wednesday night we went and meet Mrs. Fellow's at the back to school night ice cream social.

Gretta and her new teacher Mrs. Fellows

Carli's House

Poor Carli has to endure her sisters. They beg and beg to play with her. I have to stay right by them when she plays with them. They made a house for her in a moving box. She is getting to big for the play stroller.

Playdate with Eliza

Gretta had a birthday party on Monday afternoon, so Eliza and I enjoyed a playdate together. It was so much fun to hang out with Eliza for a while. It is a preview of more of what is to come when Gretta is at school. We had a fun time downtown in St. Joe. The fun days of summer are winding down.

Carli showing off her new tricks! She is in love with her feet lately.

Moving the piano and more carli

We rented a uhaul to move the piano. The Piano was really heavy and one of the wheels was broken so it took a lot of man power to move it.
Eric loaded the girls up in the front seat in their car seats to take the truck back. They loved the ride.

Piano

My friend Linda Halling kids have all grown up and moved away and she was ready to remodel her family room. Since the kids were the ones who played the piano she wanted to get rid of it to free up some space. She offered it to us. Eric and 5 guys picked it up on Saturday.
The Hallings bought it from a family in St. Joe over 22 years ago when they moved here for their kids to play. It has been well loved, but has a great sound and we are so excited to welcome it into our home. The Hallings hope it will bring us much joy to our family as it did to them. I am sure it will. The girls are so excited. They are signed up for a music class this year that is suppose to get them read for music lessons. I am actually thinking I need to take lessons again to refresh my piano skills. Eric played a few songs with the girls yesterday too.

Carli Almost 5 months!

Carli is getting bigger. She has found her feet and loves to play with them. She is rolling side to side and loves her jumperoo. She can really get it going.

Sunset on Lake Michigan

Saturday night we spent more time at the lake. It was a beautiful sunset. I am sad that summer is on it's way out. It has been a really great summer:)

Relaxing evening at the beach

We can never get enough of the beach. We headed back down tonight too. We went to Jean Kloch and there were only three other families on the whole beach. It was another beautiful evening!
