Easter Sunday in Chicago

We went to church downtown. The ward meets in a local public school. It has just been announced that they are getting a building and ground breaking will take place this summer. Everyone was really excited. Going to church in a school is a very interesting experience!

After church we went back to the hotel and had a nice Easter dinner. After lunch we headed to Lincoln Park Zoo. First we flew kites. Then we visited some of the animals.
Sunday night we walked to a park by the hotel and the kids played. Carli really liked the swing.

The Melting Pot

After the Temple we enjoyed a nice dinner at the Melting Pot. If we go back we are just going to get cheese and chocolate. We sure licked the chocolate pot clean:) It was fun to have a nice relaxing evening with the Bartoo's. Thanks for the fun company.  Nana & Pops thanks for watching the kids:)

Shedd Aquarium

Saturday we got up and went to the Shedd Aquarium. It's a good thing that we bought our tickets online before hand because the line was worse than any day I have ever been to Disneyland! It was crazy!!!! We went to the 10am aquatics show. The girls and I went the summer Eric interned at Whirlpool and it was called the Dolphin show back then and was much more of a "show" now they just tell you about the animals and how they train them. I am sure it's the pc thing to do, but the "show" was much more entertaining.   Oh well. It was still fun to see the dolphins and whales. The aquarium was very crowed so as it turns out the Dora 4 D movie was everyone's favorite part. Don't the kids looks cute in their 3 D glasses!
After the morning at the aquarium we went back to the hotel and had a nice visit with Uncle George and Aunt Shelley. Then Gabe, Anna, Eric and I went to the Temple and out to dinner why my Mom, Dad and Grandpa watched all of the grand kids.

Carli's1st Birthday Party

Checking into the hotel the kids were crazy!!! Poor Carli is just looking at them wishing she could participate!
We walked from the hotel to pick up the pizza. It is fun to be in Chicago staying downtown. It is always fun to come visit the "Big" City every once in a while. Sometimes I miss the vibe of a big city. I think that is one reason I am excited to go to Sao Paulo for a little while. I am sure after 6 months in Sao Paulo I will be happy to go back to our country life:)
We had Chicago Deep Dish Pizza for dinner and then cake to celebrate Carli's 1st Birthday! Carli was more interested in playing with the cake than eating it. Oh well. It's her birthday.
We are so happy Carli joined our family and so happy we could celebrate her birthday with my whole family.
We love you Carli!!!

Science and Industry Museum

Thursday night Mom & Grandpa flew into South Bend. Everyone was so excited for their arrival. Then Friday we drove over to Chicago and meet Anna, Gabe, Jackson and Duke and my dad at the Science and Industry Museum.
The museum was crowded, but we still had a good time. The highlight for my Dad and Grandpa was taking a tour of the 505 U boat. The kids like the play place and everyone had a good time. The museum is huge! It has real trains, planes and even a submarine all inside. We visited to United Plane for Papa Goodrich too!
