Backyards are great!!!

One of the things we have loved most about living in a house is the backyard. It is so wonderful for Gretta to be able to go outside when ever she wants.
One of her request when we were looking for a house to rent was that it had a swing set in the backyard. Well our great house didn't come with one, so I had been looking on Craigslist to see if I could find one. They were all a little more expensive than I wanted, plus they all said, "must move yourself." I couldn't figure out how we were going to be able to get one home.
One afternoon last week a friend said that all the summer stuff was on clearance at Kmart. So we went by after preschool and came home with this! Or should I say a box with the swing set in it. With a little help by Eric and Darron we got the whole thing put together. Gretta and the neighborhood kids have already had a ton of fun on it. I am planning on selling it when we leave and have the new owners move it.

Welcome to Provo Brittany!!!

Eric and the girls picked up Brittany and Chelsey today at the airport and welcomed them back to BYU. Gretta was so excited to see Brittany after her being in Jerusalem all summer. Plus she was excited to show off her new minivan. She made Brittany sit between her and Eliza in the "8th" seat.

Tuesday with Grandma

The girls were so excited to get a package in the mail today from Grandma Linda. She sent them a Shutterfly book entitled, "Tuesdays with Grandma". It recounts all of the fun times they had together while she babysat them on Tuesdays. The girls enjoyed reading it and I am sure it will become more treasured over time. They miss Tuesday's with Grandma already.
Thanks so much Grandma Linda!!!!

MINIVAN MOM!!!

Say Good bye to this...
Hello Minivan Mom.

Driving the car off the lot
We finally bought a minivan!!! Yeah!!! I don't know who is more excited me or Gretta. She can't wait to invite all of her friends to drive around with us. We have been looking at Minivans since Gretta was born and I was driving the VW Beetle. As for the Beetle, the transmission went out just before we left for Utah, so it didn't make the trip with us. It stayed in California to get fixed and sold. It does make me a little sad that my first car and car of my single days had to get sold, but I am also very excited for this next stage of my life...MINIVAN MOM!
Eric is also excited to get to drive the Infinite around town now.

This photo is by Gretta. Taken out side of our house.

Another $2 day at Thanksgiving Point

This time we meet Rachel Palmer and her kids at Farm Country. We had a good time seeing all of the animals and riding the ponies even if it rained a little bit. Actually Gretta liked riding the ponies better than Eliza. Oh well, maybe the third time will be the charm. Plus it was fun to see Rachel and her kids again.

Making Dinner

The girls wanted to help me make dinner. Gretta insisted that we put on our matching aprons for the occasion. Eric got a good laugh out of it when he got home.

Eric and Gretta with cousin David

Jerry and Breanne, Eric's cousin and his wife, joined us for dinner tonight. They have a cute baby boy, David. It was fun to see them!

The Provo Temple

Today we didn't have church because instead we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication. Since the kids couldn't come we decided to take them to the Provo Temple grounds and talk about the Temple. The grounds are beautiful. Much more beautiful than they use to be. It was peaceful and we had a nice time together as a family. Gretta tried out her photographic skills.

Discovery Gateway

We went to Discovery Gateway today in Salt Lake. It is a wonderful children's museum and if it was closer I would definitely get a year pass. It would be a great place to go in the winter. I wish it was in Provo. The girls had a great time. Gretta even got to go to a special story time where the author of a children's book read the kids her book. It was about the tooth fairy and then they did a craft based on the book. They have a lot of fun activities thorough the week too. My girls really loved all of the activities. We went as a part of a promotion for "Get Ready, Set, Go!" Which is a group dedicated to getting kids ready for school. Gretta got to participate in some crafts and even won a book in a drawing. It was a huge success!

This was a special place just for the kids 18 months and younger and even had a place to nurse.

What a cute cashier

Trip to Campus

I took the girls on a walk to campus today. It is always fun to go to the BYU bookstore and just walk across campus. It was a beautiful day and Gretta requested me to take her picture by the beautiful flowers. It is fun to be back at BYU. I love to feel the spirit of campus.

Gretta's First Day of Preschool

Gretta had her first day of preschool today at Kids village. It is such a beautiful school. The inside looks like a swiss village. Her teacher is Miss Kami. She is in the sweet pea class.
Eric and I were so impressed during the open house. Gretta gets to rotate "workshops" each day. On Tuesday she goes to Science and Kitchen and on Thursday she goes to Music and Art. She is looking forward to a fun year at school.
