Big News!!!

It's official! Eric signed his offer letter with Whirlpool Corp today. Yeah!!! Way to go Eric!
After weighing the options it seemed like the best decision for his career and our family. So our new address will be St. Joesph, Michigan come this June. Never thought I would live in Michigan in my entire life!
Coming back to MBA school has been an adventure. The ride has had some ups and downs, but we still feel like it was 100% the right decision. Heavenly Father has blessed us every step of this journey. We feel so grateful to have a great job locked up so early during this school year especially during this tough economy.
Way to go Eric! You're the best!

Here is what Eric had to say....
To all of my friends at Whirlpool,

I wanted to let you all know that today I signed my full-time offer letter with Whirlpool Corporation. My family and I are incredibly excited at the opportunity to return to Southwest Michigan and see all of you again! My conversations and interactions with each of you this past summer as well as recently played an incredible role in my ultimate decision to return to Whirlpool.

In fact, a quote from a man I admire greatly, Warren Buffett, sums up some of the reasons why I have decided to rejoin the Whirlpool team:

"When I am dealing with people I like in businesses I find stimulating and achieving worthwhile overall returns on capital employed, it seems foolish to rush from situation to situation to earn a few more percentage points.  It also does not seem sensible to me to trade known pleasant personal relationships with high-grade people, at a decent rate of return, for possible irritation, aggravation, or worse at potentially higher returns." (The Snowball, Biography of Warren Buffett, p. 315)

With the people that Whirlpool has and the domestic and international opportunities still to be realized, rejoining Whirlpool was an opportunity I simply couldn't pass up.

I look forward to working with and seeing you again soon!

Best wishes on a successful 4Q10!
Eric Fors

Eliza's Thanksgiving Program

Bee Ready Preschool is the best deal in town! Ms. Roper is such a great teacher. I am impressed with how much Eliza is learning in just 2 hours a week and the cost is so reasonable.
Eliza was suppose to have a Thanksgiving program on Nov, 22nd, but her teacher got sick at the last minute. It was post pone until this last Monday Nov29th and Eliza woke up with a high fever, so she couldn't go. I am sad she missed the program. I am not sure what they were doing because I kept asking her to sing me some of the songs and she never did. She looks cute in her Indian outfit any way.

Saturday, Nov 27, 2010- Hiking Santa Anita Canyon

Saturday morning we went on a nice hike. The weather in California is so lovely.

After ward at the ranger station Rod held a spider.

We flew back to Utah that evening. Our flight was 2+ hours late. Southwest why did you have to be so late coming and going? No loving you for that!
Luckily we made it home safe and sound.
Being back in California reminded me how much I love the weather there. It also reminded me how much I hate all of the traffic, expensive old homes, crazy school districts and politics. Oh well. We sure had a great 4 years in South Pasadena. Maybe we will call California home again someday, but just not really soon.

Friday, November 26,2010

No black Friday shopping for us. Instead we..
had a dance show.

Then we went to the newly remodeled LA Temple Visitor's center.

One of Allison's Guillen's friends, Daisy, is featured on one of the displays. You can see her video from the link above.
The new visitors center has some great displays and we really felt the Spirit strongly.
Then we headed to Diddy Reese in Westwood for an ice cream sandwich and then to Santa Monica Beach.
We had a great time riding bikes. Gretta even did a good job on this tandem bike without training wheels. Even if she always looked like she was going to tip over.

It was a beautiful day!
Then after the beach we walked around the new mall in Santa Monica. It was a fun day! Don't worry Gretta & Eliza talked Grandma Linda into buying some presents from the Disney store for them and a pillow pet for Gretta, so black Friday wasn't a total bust!

Thanskgiving 2010

We started off the day with the LaCanada 5K run for the Hungry.
This pictures was taken by the Valley Sun Paper. I can't figure out how to turn it. It ran in the paper.
Linda and I walked. Gretta & Eliza helped us finish.
Eric pushed them in the stroller.

We enjoyed a nice meal.
We have much to be grateful for in our lives.

November 24th- Disneyland

We got up early and headed to Disneyland!!! We love Disneyland. Gretta had been asking to go for weeks. At the last minute Dennis, Allison and Brittany decided to join us. We sure had a great time, and even had a celebrity sighting. We saw Ben Aflack and Jennifer Gardner and their kids on Dumbo. Brittany and Allison got some good pictures of them. I will have to post them later.
We got there early and stayed to the fireworks! It was crowded, but we still had a fun time.We rode a lot of rides and used the fast pass system well. So we still had a great day even with the crowds.
We saw my friend Bonnie Fife driving on the 5 from Camirillo to Disneyland too. That was pretty funny too!
Thanks Dennis for a great day!

 Riding Nemo
Gretta so excited about her drivers license
Eliza getting in on the action.

The whole gang, Dennis & Eliza (Eliza was a crazy driver and she wouldn't let Dennis help! Hope his back didn't hurt to much the next day). Followed by Brittany, then me, and then Eric.

We visited the North Pole and saw the Reindeer, Mrs. Clause and Santa from a distance.

 Tarzan's House
Tom Sawyers Island

The parade and then the fireworks. We had a great day!
I just LOVE Disneyland!
