Church with Ada

In honor of Ada's visit Gretta wanted to wear the dress Ada sent her when she was born and Eric wore his Chinese tie. Gretta looked darling just like a china doll. It has been wonderful to have Ada here with us. It is just amazing to think how much the gospel of Jesus Christ has changed both of our lives and how much meaning it gives to our lives.
I have truly been blessed because of my association with Ada.

Kidspace with Ada

The first picture is actually from the Disney Soda Fountain in Hollywood. We went their after our tour of Hollywood. The rest of the pictures are of Gretta and Ada at Kidspace. Notice Gretta's pink "Kitty" shoes. I can't seem to get her to part with them even though she has many other pairs to choose from that fit better. Oh well. We had a great time at Kidspace with Ada. Gretta enjoyed having someone to climb up the tower and up the ant hill with her. True to form Gretta was soaking wet before we made it home. I am sad I don't have any pictures of her walking up and down the river.

More Easter Pictures

Here are a few more Easter Pictures I forgot to add to the Easter post. I wish that it was easier to get a good picture of Gretta, but she either seems to not be looking at the camera or giving a big cheese smile. Oh well. I guess that is how it goes. She looked just darling in her Easter dress, bonnet, and purse. She loved the bonnet and wouldn't take it off all day. In fact she wanted to wear it even before Easter. She loves all kinds of hats.
The last picture is of her Easter egg hunt at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Ada's visit

Ada Chow is visit us all the way from Hong Kong. Ada's story is really miraculous! I meet Ada tracking one night in Hong Kong. She was a golden investigator from the start. She always had a lot of faith and still does. She was 16 when she joined the church. She then went on a mission to Hong Kong from 2005-2007. It has been a sweet reunion to see someone I taught so active and committed to the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father loves her and has great plans for her.
This is her first trip to the United States. We have been enjoying some of the sites around LA. We have done some fun things so far. On Tuesday my mother-in-law took her to Descanso Gardens. Today we went on a tour of Hollywood. We took one of the big double decker buses all around town. We have some other fun activities planned too.
Ada is having a good time, but I think that it is Gretta who is enjoying her visit the most. She loves Ada. She also loves having someone to play with all of the time.
Next week Ada will go to Utah for General Conference and to see other mission friends.

Easter Egg Hunt

We participate in the city Easter egg hunt today. I think that Gretta's favorite thing was actually riding one of the rides they had instead of the Easter egg hunt. She liked the hunt but was a little disappointed the eggs had toys instead of candy in them. Oh well. She also did really good when we took our picture with the Easter Bunny. That is a huge improvement from last year.

Whale Watching

We went whale watching off Dana Point. It was the first time I have been whale watching and it was a huge success. We saw 5 grey whales, a pod of dolphins, sea lions, and seals. Twice the whales were really close. They are such amazing animals. The dolphins are also particularly amazing. They swim so fast and so gracefully.

Gretta's day with Nana

Gretta loves having her family visit. Every morning when she woke up she would take roll call and find our where everyone was. She especially enjoys being spoiled by Nana. Nana took us to the Aquarium. Gretta had a great time seeing "Nemo" and all of the other fish.

Deal or No Deal

One of the fun games we played during my families visit was Deal or No Deal. Gretta was the suitcase girl. She enjoyed opening the suitcases. My dad played Howie Mandel and the banker while Anna, Gabe, Eric and I played. Then Eric took his turn as Howie while my parents played.
Eric and I were the big winners. The prizes started at 1 cent and went up to $100. Eric and I won $39. Anna & Gabe $10 and Mom & Dad $10. It is sure a lot harder than it looks on TV.

Balboa Island

We spent the week with my family at Newport Beach last week. We sure had a great time. One afternoon Eric and I were able to sneak off to Balboa Island to enjoy some peace and quite. We had a great time. It is such a beautiful place.

Gretta climbs out of her crib for the first time

Gretta climbed out of her crib at home for the first time about two weeks ago. She is definitely growing up.
After she figured out how to climb out I figured that it was useless to keep the railing up so high so I lowered it and told her that she just needed to stay in her room during nap time. Over the first week I found her on the floor in many places passed out for her nap or bed time.
This picture is what I found one day when I went to check on her. I think she pulled out every toy that is in her room before she fell asleep.
The good news is now that I got the big bed in her room all ready for her to sleep in she once again prefers to sleep in the crib and actually will stay in it. All I had to do is give her another option.

Gretta and the baby bows

The other day Gretta got into her hair box and got out all of her old baby bows. She strung them along her arm. It looked pretty funny so I had to take a picture.

More Pictures from our trip to Boise

Here are some more pictures from our trip to Boise. It is getting hard to take a good picture of Gretta because she either wants to smile too big or she won't look at the camera. She also wants to take the picture herself. Oh well. I guess that is what happens.
My favorite picture of the group is her sitting with my grandma with her in all pink. We really did have a great trip.

Shopping with Nana

While in Boise Nana took Gretta to the mall and bought her shoes. I think the picture says it all! She is only two and already shopping like a diva. I think I am in trouble.

Happy 62nd Wedding Anniversary!!!

While we were in Boise we helped Grandma and Grandpa celebrate their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. Gretta enjoyed helping blow out the candles on the cake.
My Grandparents are great examples of how to have a wonderful marriage and how to make it last.
