North Pole Express- Heber Creeper

Saturday night we drove up to Heber and took the North Pole Express. They use to call it the "Polar Express", and read the story, but I guess the rights got to expensive. So now it is the Polar Express. It was a beautiful day and the girls were so excited for the train ride. We read the "Polar Express" book on the way up in the car to get ready.

Here we are just about ready to board the train. The engine 1813 is very special. It can go on wide gauge and narrow gauge rail. It was the 13 one the US Government built and it is the only one currently in operation today.
Train car 270 use to be a passenger car that would take commuters from NJ to NY.
The cars were warm and cozy and decorated for Christmas.
 All ready to go!
We sang Christmas songs, drank hot chocolate, ate cookies and listened to the "Night before Christmas" on the way to the North Pole. The North Pole was all light up and Santa was out to greet us. He got on the train and made visit to all of the children. Well almost all. Gretta hid underneath a blanket the whole time. Eliza was brave enough to at least stand next to him.

Eliza helped with the "12 days of Christmas". She was the Partridge in the pear tree.

 Imagine my child here!

It was a magical evening and a fun event!
