Cass County Fair with Emily

Saturday morning we headed over to Cassopolis, MI for the Cass County Fair.
Gretta wanted to dress like Emily, so Emily let her borrow a shirt and a belt.

It was family $1 so it only cost us $3 to get in and then all of the rides were $1.
I went on a ride with Gretta. Gretta is 47 inches tall, and needed to be 48 for all of the big kid rides. She got lucky and was able to ride most of them because she was so close. She is going to be so excited when she is really 48 inches tall and can ride all the rides at the fair and at Disenyland.

I took Eliza down to the kiddie rides.

Racing down the slide!

The kids participated in Nick's Kid Show! Eliza sure loves to dance.
Then with impending rain we headed to the barn to see all of the animals. We watched them auctioning off bunnies. The bunnies when from about $70 to $425 dollars. I asked a lady why the prices were so different and she told me all about how the kids write up buyer letters and go around and tell people that they are selling animals at the fair and that usually family or family friends bid on the animals. Her daughters pig sold for $680 dollars, but she figured they were into the pig $800 just to raise it. She lets her daughter keep the money for her college fund.
It made me want to move to somewhere my girls could have 4-H animals. Eliza wants a cow and Gretta wants a horse. Maybe it is my good Idaho roots, but I sure think that would be fun and great way for the kids to learn how to work!

After the rain stopped we rode a few more rides and then headed home to St. Joseph where Emily took us to Mexican food. I think she really wanted to go there because they have the best ice cream!
Another fun filled day!
