Family history in Kalamazoo

Today after church we went to see the grave site of Eric's Great, Great, Great, Great Grandpa and Grandma's graves. They homesteaded in Kalamazoo Michigan. Harlow bought the land  in 1848
Harlow Thompson born 1821 and died in 1853 and Clarinda Thompson born in 1817 and died in 1854.

When Clarinda died in 1854 she left 5 children ages 11 to 18 months. Eric's descended from the youngest, John Henry Thompson who was 6 months when his father died and 18 months when his mother died. He was sent to Rockford, IL
Little did we know when we moved to Michigan that Eric had some relatives who lived here before.
