Nana & Papa Jack

Here a just a few pictures from Nana & Papa's visit this last weekend. Gretta has wanted to take a bath in the baby bath for a while, but I always refuse. Well, Nana never says no. So Gretta got to take a sink bath in the baby bath tub. It is amazing to see how much bigger she is now. They grow up so fast. We really had a great visit with my family. I will post more pictures later.

Gretta's hiding spot

As with most two year olds Gretta loves to play hide and seek. One of Gretta's favorite places to hide is in the dryer. I know it's not the safest place for her to hide, thus I don't encourage it and haven't said anything to Eric about it. Last week Eric found her in the dryer and thought was so funny he had to take a picture. So enjoy! It is pretty funny. Luckily the dryer in our apartment complex takes quarters, so I figure it would be pretty hard for it to start by its self. Oh to be so small and fit into so many places.

Young Women Reconition

On Sunday night they had the Stake Young Women's Recognition night to recognize all of the graduating seniors, and the seniors who have received their Young Women's Personal Progress Recognition. It was a wonderful meeting that honored some very special girls. I am so proud of the girls from our ward I work with. They are such great examples of faith and testimony. It is such a tough world to be growing up in right now and they are facing the challenges face on. I am so proud of them. They are such great examples to me and to those around them. Way to go girls!!! Good luck with your future. I know you will do great things.

My Birthday!

We celebrated my 31st Birthday over the weekend. This picture was taken at family dinner on Sunday. My sister in law has a birthday close to mine, so we shared the party. Eric did a great job making me feel special and everyone was so generous with my presents. I can't wait to cash in on the pedicure gift certificates and use the restaurant gift cards. Any night I don't have to cook is a good night:) I also got a lot of fun money to spend, and I am day dreaming of all the fun things I can buy for myself with it. Yeah.
Thank you everyone for making it such a special day.

Eric and his girls

This picture was taken on Sunday afternoon when we were just hanging out as family. Eric is a great dad to girls. They sure love him, and I do too!

Eliza Anne

Here are some pictures of Eliza at 1 month old. She already looks a lot bigger to me. They grow up so fast!

Gretta

Here are some pictures of my darling two year old Gretta. She loves pretending she is the baby and sitting in the baby swing. She also has reverted to wanting a binky. I am sure it is just a phase with the new baby.
Gretta is such a darling, happy, and delightful girl. I am so grateful to be her mother.

Eric saves the day!

Here are some more random pictures I took during Eric's paternity leave. The first picture is of what happens when you don't watch Gretta with her lunch.
He went back to work on Wednesday which made us all sad.:( It was great to have him home! I loved every minute of it. One thing I have always thought is it is crazy you spend so much time an energy looking for the perfect person to marry, and then when you find them you really don't get to spend that much time together due to the other demands of life. So it was fun to take a break from some of the other demands and spend time together as a family. I wish Eric could be home everyday with us, but on the other hand I am glad he does such a good job at work providing for us. It is also a huge blessing that I can stay at home.
His first day back went great because my mother-in-law took Gretta for the morning. However, it went rapidly down hill that night. Gretta woke up about 11:30 throwing up and coughing. Thursday morning she seemed better, but it didn't last long. I knew she didn't feel that well and was debating if I should take her to the doctor. I figured she had viral croup, and they couldn't do that much for us. I was just going to watch her and make sure she could breath okay. I still remember from nursing school that epiglotitis is a true pediatric emergency. (I was on the lookout for tripod breathing.)Then at 12:30 she told me, "Mommy my ear hurts.I go to the ear doctor." and proceeded to put her shoes on and go to the door. I figured this was a pretty bad sign she didn't feel well, and if she wanted to go we better go. Luckily the doctors office worked us right in. She had a fever of 102 at the doctors office and sounded pretty bad. He agreed it was croup and gave me a prescription for some steroid to help her breath a little better. He also gave me a warning to try and keep the two kids apart from each other and wash my hands good. Keeping a two year old away from her new baby sister sounds a lot easier than it really is.
So needles to say today wasn't the best day of my life. However, when Eric came home he really saved the day! He is the best. He made dinner, started the laundry and some how managed to make everyone smile again. Thanks love for being the best! I love you! The best thing I ever did was marry you.

Bath Time

Eliza enjoying a bath. She already looks a lot older to me and has great head control.

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day. I am sad we didn't get any more pictures to share. This is the card that Gretta made for me at her preschool class. She was so excited to give me the card and presents.
I have been telling her that my birthday is coming up because she is really into birthdays lately. She wants to sing "Happy Birthday" to everyone and likes to make birthday cakes with her play doh. I guess I spend too much time telling her my birthday was coming up and not enough time explaining what Mother's Day is because she told me, "Happy Birthday Mother's Day" and then sang me "Happy Birthday" when she gave me my presents. It was really cute:) She was especially excited to give me the chocolates that they handed out to the moms at church. They after she gave them to me she insisted that I open them and share them. Eric tried to explain that they were for me and I didn't have to share which just produced tears, so I broke down and shared.
I am so grateful for my two beautiful children. Gretta is a delight to raise and I can't wait to make great memories with Eliza too.

Hanging out with Dad

Here are some pictures of Eric hanging out with Eliza. I still can't believe how small they are and how fast they seem to grow up.

Eliza your parents are CRAZY!!!

One of my goals while Eric was on paternity leave was to go to Disneyland as a family. Who knows what I was thinking or what this would prove???I think that I thought if I could go to Disneyland with Eric I could do anything with two girls by myself. Plus I have been feeling bad for Gretta because her live changed so much. So... Off to Disneyland we went. It actually was quite fun and enjoyable. Disney has great facilities for babies, and Gretta loved being at Disneyland with both parents. Gretta loves Dumbo! The trip to Disneyland was great, but I was SO tired the next two days I am not sure if it was worth it or not. Plus who takes a two week old to Disneyland??? I guess that it was happens when you are sleep deprived. Oh well. Enjoy the pictures.
