Nauvoo Day 2

Saturday we had a great time in Nauvoo. This is the second time that we have been to Nauvoo. The first time we went was on our way back to Salt Lake after Eric's internship at Whirlpool. I realized then how much there is to see an do in Nauvoo. This trip was no different. We didn't get enough time to see everything. Going to Nauvoo is such a faith promoting experience. Both Eric and I have ancestors who lived in Nauvoo. In fact it is fun to think that Eric's Great, Great, Great, Great Grandparents Parley P Pratt and Mary Wood My Great, Great, Great, Great Grandparents Milo and Abigail Andrus might have know each other. In preparation for the trip Eric and I read parts of Parley's and Milo's histories. It was interesting to read their stories and hear of the same events.
It is always amazing to think about what they suffered and struggled to be able to live their religion. It is also amazing to think that when Joseph Smith organized the church in 1830 it only had 6 members and now it is filling the earth. The work of the Lord is moving forward.

The Nauvoo Temple at night. Isn't it amazing to think that in their poverty they built such a beautiful structure.
Carli getting some Nana time. It's hard to do when the other Grands area awake.

Oma made this dress for me when I was a baby.
