Skagway, AK

August 11, 2010 Skagway, AK. We got to spend the most time in Skagway. We docked at 7am and didn't leave until 7pm. Skagway is a small town. The population is about 875 in the winter. In the summer it ballons up to about 10,000 people a day from cruise ships. It was an important town during the Alaskan gold rush. It was one of the ways you could get there. We went on two shore excursions.
In the morning we went on a town tour and up the White Pass.

Then in the afternoon we went on a river float.

Afterward we walked around town a bit. It is really amazing to see the cruise ships dock right in town. The water way doesn't really seem big enough, but it is.
