We got up early on Monday and were picked up by a taxi and taken to the new Marina to meet up with our Simba Sea tour. The funny thing is the first thing Jenny, the owner, asked us was, "Your from Utah right? Are you Mormon?" Then she told us another "Mormon" Family from Utah was also on our trip.(They actually live in Indonesia right now, but they were "Mormon") That was the second time in two days almost the first question someone asked is, "Are you Mormon". Phuket doesn't even have missionaries assigned to it, but they sure know who "Mormon's" are.
We got in the big speed boat and headed to Phi Phi Island. There were 12 of us. The ride out to Phi Phi island took about 1 1/2 hours by jet boat.
Here is our first stop.
Then we went Snorkeling. There were a lot of little fish. Nothing really big, but a lot of fish who weren't really that scared of us. Also the coral got bleached last year due to record high water temps, so it was all white.
3rd stop was a Hong. See all of the other boats. The limestone in the rock turns to the water the amazing color.
This special area is an area where swallow birds make nets in their own saliva and the Thai's and Chinese love to make bird nest soup out of them, so they had to protect the caves. You can see the house on the right side where they live.
Then we went to Monkey Island and we feed the Monkey's peanuts right off the boat.
Then we had lunch on the beach. Jenny had prepared a delicious picnic lunch.
Then more snorkeling.
Here is the Phuket Marina.
It was a great day!
