South Pasadena Fire Department

Today at our PCC class a South Pasadena Fire Truck and an Ambulance showed up to class. Captain Riddle and his crew showed off what the firefighters wear, how the hose sprays water, and told kids not to be scared of the firemen. I admit I can now see why they say sometimes a scared child doesn't call out to them when they go into to save them. They look pretty scary in all of their gear. Gretta was actually even to scared to get close to the fire truck or anything related to the fire truck. They let the kids spray their hose, but she also wasn't interested in that. Oh well.
I took one picture of her with the ambulance. I will post it later.
It was a fun educational morning. They said the fire station has an open door policy and that they are always willing to show the kids around. I think we might have to make a visit to see if we can calm Gretta's fears.

It can be scary to see stuff like that... I loved the children's musuems in TX because they had stuff like that that the kids could play on and see close up. Actually they had a real ambulance at one and here in UT they have a real helicopter. :) Good luck with calming the fears... :)
