Emily's Visit Day 2

The day started out a little bit over cast, so first we headed to the Library to get our summer reading prizes. The girls finished the summer reading program and the last prize was a ice cream cone at Kilwin's. It is the premier ice cream shop in town, so I am excited to get those sometime soon. Eric thinks we should get the prize since we actually read all of the books. We live 2 blocks from the Library and have really enjoyed the summer reading program. The Library also has at least 3 full time children librarians and is huge! It is a great resource. We have also enjoyed getting new books each week.
Then we headed to the Kids' Museum.

Dress up and face painting are always a hit.

Eliza is pretending to be the teacher.
The Volcano Slide

She was born to be a nurse. She is listening to Eliza's heart.
Then we went home for lunch and Eliza's nap. Emily and Gretta made up a story while Eliza napped.
Then we headed out the the carnival. This weekend in St. Joseph's it is the Venetian Festival. There are a lot of things going on and one of them is a carnival at the beach. Gretta has been watching the rides get set up and has been so excited. I bought wrist bands at the grocery store for a discount. When I was a kid I always wanted wrist band for the fair. The weather cleared up and we had a great time. We didn't wait in one line. The only sad thing was that you had to be 36 inches tall to ride the rides, so Eliza couldn't use her wrist band. Eric made good use of it for her. She actually was pretty content considering she only got to ride the Ferris Wheel and we took her on the carousel on the way home. She isn't quite as much of an adrenalin junky as Gretta. Emily and Gretta rode a ton of rides. Gretta isn't scared of anything and cried when they told her she could go on the boat ride because she wasn't tall enough.

This ride really spins around.

She even went upside down on "Zero Gravity" 4 times.

This ride drops straight down without warning. She loved it and went on it 4 times too.

Then Eric joined us after work and we went to dinner at Silver Beach Pizza. It was a hit. He then took full advantage of Eliza's wrist band and enjoyed some rides.

The whole family went on the Ferris Wheel. Eliza was so excited to finally get on a ride.
You can see the lake in the distance.

The Carsoel on the way home. Eliza & Emily are in the background.

Then we walked up to the Bluff where an antique car show was going on and some great music. It was another fun day and lovely evening in Michigan.
