Bluffdale Demolition Derby

Something on Eric's bucket list to do before we left Provo was to go to a Demolition Derby. He spent 6 years at BYU and never spent a Spring or Summer term in Provo, so he has been trying to live up his Provo summer experience. He also wanted to float the Provo river, but I think that is going to have to wait until we come back someday because the river is running to high to float right now.
Saturday night we went up to Bluffdale to see the Derby. Brittany also joined us. It was sponsored by the Lions Club.
Here are some of the cars.
Gretchen, Gretta, Eric, Eliza & Brittany
Gretta was a little bit scared and couldn't understand why they were hitting each other. I guess it is kind of weird when you think about it. Luckily no one got hurt.

Cotton Candy was a hit!

Can you see the cars getting towed away in the back??? Most of them didn't make it out on their own power.
After the 3rd round or the "grudge match" before the finals they had a quarter find for the kids. They dropped 2 bales of sawdust and then $75 of quarters in. The age group was 4-5 so poor Eliza didn't get to participate. Gretta was so excited to find one quarter.
