Last night we decided to go to the Levitt Pavilion for the Children's Concert. It is the last one of the summer we will be able to attend. I saw Gary Allegretto's name on the schedule, and didn't know who he was, but we decided to go any way. It was a beautiful summer evening. We lucked out on a great parking spot and then joined the fun. We didn't know it was going to be such a unique evening. Gary Allegretto is with the Harmonikids non-profit organization dedicated to providing harmonicas & the joy of music to children. The program gives harmonicas to children and teaches them to play simple songs through easy instruction and gentle encouragement. Harmonikids' goal is to provide a fun, interactively educational, and entertaining diversion.
The kids are suppose to be 5 and up to try and learn. Gretta did an okay job, but I actually think Eric enjoyed it the most. Gretta was great at telling her dad to listen to the conductor. After Gretta attempted for a while I took Gretta to the nice play ground next to the pavilion. She had a great time riding the train.
This family even was followed by a girls night out to celebrate Kerri's birthday at Cheesecake factory. It doesn't get much better than this. I love summer evenings!
