In the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints we don't have any paid clergy, or staff at our Church buildings. Members are assigned to help keep the Church buildings clean. In our Ward in St. Joseph Michigan we are assigned by families to clean. Well here in Sao Paulo it's no different. Our family was asked last Saturday to help some other families clean the building. Eric took Gretta and Eliza and I stayed home with Carli because we have learned during past cleaning assignments that my contribution is limited when I have to watch Carli and bring Carli might actually cause a loss in total productivity.
Gretta and Eliza did a great job cleaning. I guess every week no matter how much they clean it the baptismal font ends up with 1 or 2 cockroaches in it week after week. After seeing the cockroaches and hearing that Gretta announced that there is no way she is getting baptized here in Brazil. She has been pretty adamant about that anyway for a long time. But that was really the icing on the cake. She wants to get baptized when we go back to Michigan which means waiting for a at least a month after turning 8.
With about 5 families the assignment was complete pretty quickly.
