Primary Program

Today was the primary program at Church. It still amazes me how much things run at Church here like they do at home. Not that it's my first international Church experience, but it's still pretty amazing.  There are 19 kids in the primary including Gretta and Eliza. There were only 5 girls before Gretta and Eliza came so they are excited to have a few more girls in Primary. Also they only have nursery, and then a junior and senior primary class.
The Primary President lived in Seattle for 8 years. Actually all of her children were born in Seattle. She has an 8, 6 and 2 year old boys. The  8 & 6 year old boys have been a big help to Gretta and Eliza in class because they speak perfect English. Gretta and Eliza are the only kids from American families old enough to be in Primary. There are 6 other American children nursery age and younger.
She emailed me parts for the kids this week and yesterday they went to the Church and practice with everyone.
Here are their parts:

Eliza-  Because Heavenly Father answers my prayers I know that I am a Child of God.  He loves me, and will always be there for me.
Gretta-  We know that Jesus Christ will return. Prophets have foretold that He will come to earth again. We want to be worthy to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the celestial kingdom so we will prepare every day by keeping the commandments. I have a testimony that I am a child of God.

All of the songs are the same ones they have been learning all year in Michigan except of course they are in Portuguese. They did sing, "I am a Child of God" in English.
Gretta and Eliza were really brave and sang with the kids and also said their parts. They both did a great job. I was so proud of them. After the Program they got cupcakes and bags of candy, so they were really excited.
We have about 9 American or part American families in our ward, and a large portion of the Brazilians also speak English. The only part of Church that is offered in English is Sunday School.

(Lindsey Parker can you imagine a Program with a picture of all our Primary kids in Michigan?!?!? It would take pages!)

Invitations they gave everyone to pass out to family and friends last Sunday before the program.
