Rain, Rain go away!

The first few days we got here it rained on and off, but only really "pineapple juice" kind of rain, so other than being cold and wet it wasn't to wet. Well today it's really raining! Eric was going to ride a bike to work and back, but luckily we checked the weather. It was drizzling this morning when Eric took the girls down to the bus, but then it turned into real rain. Just tonight we are suppose to get 1/2 an inch. Plus the forecast is for 3 days of rain. Oh joy.
I was planning on walking with Carli to the grocery store, but instead we stayed inside all morning. We played with her toys, did some speech, played play doh, colored and then I decided to give her a bath, or really just let her play in the bath tub. Big mistake! She ended up pooping in the tub. I swear my other kids never pooped in the tub, but she does it ALL of the time. That was a quick end to the bath. While I was gagging cleaning it up she was pretending to gag and then laughing. I wish it was laughing matter. I got her and the tub all cleaned up and her off to bed.
I enjoyed warm tomato soup from home for lunch today. Two weeks ago when we unpacked I couldn't figure out why we had felt the need to bring so much stuff. Well today I am wishing I brought even more stuff and food from home. I brought a pumpkin bar mix that I thought would be fun to make with Gretta & Eliza when they get home from school in honor of our oven finally being fixed. I was looking at the package only to realize it recommends using cream cheese frosting with it.  Cream Cheese frosting is easy enough to make if I can find some cream cheese. I can't remember seeing it in the store yet, or more important how much it cost.
Also my great plan to mail Eric's friend, Jeremy, the girls ballet leotards from Walmart.com so he could bring them when he comes next week backfired because I put his address in for the shipping address, but then I must have checked use the billing address for the shipping address somewhere during check out and mailed them to our house. There is still hope they can come in our weekly fedex package of mail, but I am not 100% sure. Luckily they aren't too big. We get our first package on Thursday and I have never been so excited to get the mail before.
My neighbor told me that two of the local markets will deliver food. That would coming in handy on a rain day like today, because of the places I can even order it online. To bad it's not really that simple because I can't call the first place and even really tell them what I want. And as for the second where I can order on line I think I could figure out what I want thanks to google translate, but I have no idea how I could actually receive the order since my ability to communicate with security is pretty much 100% and we live in Fort Knox's so how the delivery person would make it to my door is a mystery. Maybe if it really keeps raining I will get desperate and try and figure it out.
The washing machine repair man was suppose to come at 3pm today. That is what the owners friend called and told me. I got a phone call around 12:30 from a lady and the only thing I understood she said was Christina. I was thinking maybe it was security to let the repair man up, but he never came.  I called Eric and he called Christina and she had no idea who called. Well 3pm came and went and he never showed. I figured in the rain he might not come. Even though it rains quite a bit here SP doesn't handle it well. Or they wouldn't let him in because security is so tight. It's funny to me because when I tell people I don't speak Portuguese on the phone they just keep repeating what they said thinking some how I will figure it out. Or they say "Allo" over and over again even when I answer in English. It's like they can't hear the English. I am sure we do the same types of things at home. Most of the time I just hang up.
The girls came home this afternoon and reported a good day at school. The power went out at Eliza's school after lunch and they spend the rest of the day learning by flashlight. What an experience!!!!
I would have to say it seems like Eliza is really learning a lot. Today she counted by 10s for me all the way to 100. Plus her teacher sent the list of what they are learning this week and its pretty impressive.  I am not sure if Gretta is learning anything, oh well. She said all they did today was Art.   At least she is having good time and making friends.
After they came home from school they played with the neighbor girls and then went to dance class. They have a recital on Nov 30 and they are excited. Eliza even asked me to sign her up for ballet when we get home. I am glad she is enjoying it so much.
