First Impression

When ever I asked people about moving to Brazil the locals would tell me that Eric's work was in a nice part of town and that also our condo complex was in a nice area. So in my head I was envisioning something like Lincoln Park, Michigan Ave, the financial district of NY, or the nice part of downtown LA like by where Eric work. Well lets just say what I thought it was going to look like and what it does are two different things.
I forgot even though Brazil is a first world country that it still is in Latin America. My first impression of Sao Paulo and the area we live in is that it's a mix between downtown LA and Hong Kong. There are a lot more skyscraper like Hong Kong and is green and tropical like Hong Kong, but it has the feel of the not so nice parts of LA. Living in LA I was always so amazed that you could drive down 3rd street and it could go from nice to getto,  to another getto and then to ultra nice all in about 20 minutes. Here is SP  the side walks are uneven and narrow and the building are so random. You have super nice condo complexes next to small random shops, car repair places, school and stores. Its very eclectic.
Once I got over what I thought it was going to look like and realized that my vision was wrong I have realized what a beautiful place Sao Paulo really is and that it has it's own charm. Also the area we live in is super nice and safe compared to others.
