Successful First Day of School

The first day was a success!!! The girls got off the bus super excited to tell me what a great day
they each had.
Eliza was excited that they had music twice!!! Because her teacher had to leave early so they had music again. All of her classes are in English, but most of the kid are still learning English and are a bit shy to talk with her. She said she made two friends. She also really liked what they feed her for lunch. She gets a morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack right before she leaves. I am so excited for my picky eater to get to try a few new things!!!
Gretta's school is about 1/2 English and 1/2 Portuguese. She reports she made some friends too and that some of the kids speak English. She said that math was super easy, but her biggest challenge is Portuguese class. Today they just let her draw a picture during it. She also gets two snacks and lunch at school.
She was excited because she came home with a permission slip to go on a class field trip to the movie "Planes" in 3-D on tomorrow with her class.  It's the "Day of the Child" in Brazil, so they are doing something fun. Sounds like a pretty fun field trip to me. I reminded her that the movie would be in Portuguese, but she said it doesn't really matter because she has seen it before, and I don't really want her to be the only kid left at school.

Eliza's teacher wrote a cute note in her journal. Eliza got to be the Helper at school today. Both girls told me they need to take a tooth brush and tooth paste to school. Eliza also said I need to get her a special case to put hers in because everyone else has one. It must be very important because her teacher even wrote me a note about it.

I am so happy they had such a great time and are so excited about going back tomorrow. I wish I could go to school and make some friends!
Picking them up at the front gate from the bus.
