Sunday started out with us going to church. Eliza took a picture of Eric and I before we left. I forgot to take one of us outside of the church building. Our church building is about 10 mins from here and is very nice and has parking.
Gretta and Eliza did great in Primary. They were practicing for their Primary Program which is next week. The songs are the same that they have been learning in Michigan, but they are just in Portuguese.
The Primary President is Brazilian, but live in Seattle for 8 years and just returned to SP last year. She has three boys 8, 6, and 2. So just about the same ages as my girls. The oldest boy Thomas speaks perfect English and was able to help the girls in class. The girls teacher gave them treats and they had a good time and are excited for the program next week.
Carli went to Nursery by herself for about 30 minutes, but then I could hear her crying from the Relief Society room and since I was just reading along with the lesson in English I went up to help her.
Eric and I ended up taking her to Sunday School with us because they actually have an English Sunday School class which is great. Then we all went to Sacrament meeting.
Even with Church almost all in Portuguese it's always amazing to me how similar church in a foreign county is to church in the US. Correlation is a beautiful thing. We had the same lessons we would have had in our ward in Michigan and were able to follow along in our English lesson books. It was Fast and Testimony meeting during Sacrament and just like at home a few kids got up and plenty of adults.
There are 3 other American families and then a few Brazilians who speak English. I have to admit not having church here in English is a bit of disappointment.
After Church Eric helped the girls make pancakes for lunch.
Then after Carli and my nap we went to the big Ibuerquara Park which is like New York Central Park. It's HUGE and there were tons of people and families. We only saw a small portion of it, but the kids had a great time.
