Power Outlets

So when we were getting ready to move to Brazil I did a lot of research and kept reading that homes/condos/and apartments were wired with both 220v and 110v electricity. So I couldn't figure out what we needed to do about our appliances, blow dryer etc. So we just took everything we needed down and hoped it would work out. Well it did. The books were right. All over are apartment were different kinds of outlets. You could plug both our plugs in and plugs from Brazil that are two round pegs. An if you need to use the bottom one they have a widget that plugs into them so you can use them. If they are 220 v they are clearly labeled. I am still not 100% sure why they wire the buildings that way, but its helpful.
Also the power supply in Sao Paulo is a little bit delicate and anytime it rained hard the power would go out. I think that is maybe why they don't have central heat and A/C. A/C would put way to much of a strain on the power supply.
